Challenge: 2 A) You get to go on a field trip! Whether alone or with a group, you head off into the wild to observe the species you want to eventually bond with. Draw out a sheet showing your character’s notes on their subject. Does anything exciting/dangerous happen?

A research paper on his future partner? This couldn’t be too difficult. Alan set out, like many other students, into the wild where his intended species was known to wander. It didn’t take him long to find the noisy heard of Gryposaurus, a hook-nosed relative of iguanodon. He sat down and took notes of their size, colors, behaviors and what they seemed to be eating. It was fairly peaceful to do, as the herd didn’t pay much attention to him while he sat in the shadows of the treeline.
Movement caught his eye. Across the clearing, he could see something sneaking near the brush, so camouflaged it was nearly imperceptible. As it started moving into the grass, he recognized the shape, and his breath caught.
Two Utahraptors were stalking into the herd.
There was bound to be at least one more, maybe two coming in from different directions that he couldn’t see. Before he could decide whether to hide or run, the herd spooked with a ruckus of bellows and honks, charging away from the threat.
Alan jumped to his feet and started sprinting when he saw several Gryposaurus heading for his spot, knowing that they wouldn’t give a second thought to running him over. He wound up running through the herd, dodging the giant herbivores on either side. He saw a large tree up ahead with low-hanging branches and made a beeline for it.
